We have looked through the dictionary and the thesaurus and cannot find words that can remotely express our gratitude to everyone who played a part in the 125th Anniversary Celebration of the Scott Street Baptist Church.

As the Scott Street Baptist Church family celebrated their 125th Anniversary, we were blessed by the inspiring words and expression of challenges from our keynote speaker, Isaac Newton Farris, the nephew of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. George Bolden
We are also thankful for Rev. Dr. George Bolden (the former pastor of SSBC) and former First Lady, Geraldine Bolden. Dr. Bolden gave us our marching orders for the next 125 years at our banquet on Saturday. It was a fantastic place to be on the eve of our anniversary as we heard a word from the Lord.
The City of Bluefield
We cannot thank the City of Bluefield and Bluefield State College enough for their cooperation and participation in the rededication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge. Regardless of our faith traditions, we believe that God was honored with all of the inspiring words given by each speaker. The bridge was decorated so beautifully and it was a good day for all Bluefieldians.

Martin Luther King, Jr.
Bridge
We wanted to share this weekend with the City of Bluefield and BSC because of our symbiotic history. Pastor Garry D. Moore, Sr. and Dea. J. Rudolf Brammer have served the city as mayors. Dr. Leroy Allen served BSC as its President while simultaneously blessing SSBC as its pastor.
Thank you to
Law Enforcement
Our joy is wrapped up in how we came together. You helped us and we'll never forget how you blessed us. We cannot praise the Bluefield Police Department, the BSC campus police, the Mercer County Sheriff Department, and the Mercer County detachment of the WV State Police enough for their professionalism and keeping us safe.
Thank you to
BDT and WVVA
Thank you Bluefield Daily Telegraph and WVVA for such wonderful coverage of all events and the positive comments about our city and church. We must take the time to also thank the staff of the Chuck Mathena Center. You have a wonderful facility and it is a great asset to our county!
Proclamations
Thank you, Senator Bill Cole and Senator Joe Manchin for your proclamations. Your representatives, Jason Crowder and Michael Browning (respectively), blessed us tremendously.
We the members and pastor of the Scott Street Baptist Church thank all of you for such a joyous weekend. No one in history has ever done anything worthwhile without help. We thank you for your support and prayers. We thank you for being a friend of God.
